Esdras Scroll

Features Poet Sharon Holliday

Sharon D. Holliday is featured in the 2008 Fall/Winter Issue of Esdras Scroll, A prophetic Poetry & Creative Writing Magazine Sharon talks about her premier poetry book release, Creation’s Path, “A Poetic Journey of Faith.”   Esdra Scroll is a  publication of Voices of Christ Literary Ministries International.

Interviewer Anita Licorish states, “The landscape of poetry has changed over the years.  It is ever changing in the times we are in now.  God is sending for His poets to express His heart”.  He has placed His Spirit of the Scribal Anointing upon those who have a heart to write for Him.  Anita states,  “as she was reading the book, Creation’s Path, “A Poetic Journey of Faith,” I found myself on a course that encouraged me to increase my faith.  There were several selections that touched me in the very place I was in at that time in space.  God’s prophetic writers are a different breed and come with purposeful ministries!  The difference between enjoying poetry and being encouraged by it makes all the difference in the world.  Sharon D. Holliday writes with passion as she shares her “journey of faith” so that others may be revived and refreshed.”

In the interview Sharon defines faith, “trusting God without doubt, no matter what it looks like, feels or appear to be at all times in every situation until you get the result that God says.” She says that she considers faith as a journey because life is; we walk one day at a time, we walk by faith on this journey of life.”

Anita states as she was reading “Creation’s Path”, certain pieces caught her attention; mainly because they spoke to where she was at the moment she was reading them.  For example, the poem “This Time I Laughed” caused her to remember the times she cried, then the journey to getting to the point where I could laugh at the adversary.

She asked Sharon to explain the message behind this poem.  Sharon said, “I believe when we encourage ourselves with the word of God we will laugh through the tough and unbelievably crazy things that the enemy does in trying to defeat us.  We will see ourselves not only coming out victoriously but with the favor of God, the provisions of God, and greater faith in God that we may serve God and others even more.”

Anita ends the interview in stating “You mentioned Daniel, but I also see you as a modern day Esther because these poems were written for people to be freed by their faith! Esther knew that her assignment was to free her people from physical death and here I believe many will be freed from spiritual death as they learn how to escape on a journey of faith! Truly, God always provides a “way of escape!”
