Morning Brew
Start The Day Right In The Word of God
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
October/November 2008
“Take me away.” This line is use in association with spa bath, relaxing or vacation. It’s a gesture of “me” time. It’s also a line that many of us have heard, used or seeking now. What are we sensing a need for? Is it:
1. Physical space and time for oneself.
2. A break from right now, right now!
3. A yearning for time out, a refreshing.
Many of us may be feeling this right now. Many of us may need this right now in the natural.
Do you realize that our Spirit also nudge us for time out, time outside of our normal routine a time of solitude and refreshing with God alone. Here’s an exercise. Take a minute think about a place that is relaxing to you, the beach, the mountains, in your back yard around the pool, or sitting near a water fall just listening to its sounds. It’s your moment you choose the place that will take you into a place of rest mentally. Now just relax as if you are in that atmosphere, don’t forget you can only take a minute.
Ok, time’s up! Boy, just the thought-didn’t that feel good. Ok, a real get away is even better. This was just an exercise to get you to relax and let God take care of you. He does that any way. But he can do so much more when you let go.
I‘ve heard once that “all things are possible to the quite mind,” a mind that is free from weighs, worries and etc.
We all have demands (duties) in our day to day life but we must learn how to carry out our responsibilities and not allowing them to become weight and worries. Take a break when you need it, but take one before you need it also. Above all of that don’t miss your daily time with Him. In Him we are refreshed.
On that dusty road get away
He took me by surprise,
Honestly
and even more importantly
in everything I experienced
people I met and things I saw were I valued them and
I saw Him in a new and refreshing way.
My Dusty road get away
Drew me closer to my Father.
Lord,
Oh, how we do need more time spend with you.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. ~Mark 1:35 NIV~
The Holy Spirit reminds us of all things, even when we need to draw closer to God.
A story to be told from this experience.
