Power Up with The Word of God To Get You Through the Day

August 2008

This was one of the questions asked in my writing group (VOC). It is also my Midday Tea.

What person in the scriptures, can you identify with most in your
life right now? Why? (We already know that everyone can identify with
Jesus, so let’s consider some of the other men and women of the bible?)

My response: There are many persons in the scriptures that one can identify with but the one most in my life right now is Paul for many reasons. We all persecuted the standards of God when we were without Him, but (right now) in Acts 25 as Paul was being tried; I am reminded that carrying the gospel of truth is not as easy as it looks when a minister is standing before you delivering a message from God. What I want to focus on here and my identification right now is Paul’s change, his strong stand, and God’s calling him to purpose to fulfill a destiny. I have been reflecting on the moment I changed for the glory of God, although I have stumbled, failed, been persecuted, abandon, been supported, encouraged, crawled, walked, experiencing the peace and joy in the midst, well you get the picture…my decision is, I will continue, I know who called me out and I know who I am. Acts 26:15-16

15And I said, who are You, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus, Whom you are persecuting.

16But arise and stand upon your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, that I might appoint you to serve as [My] minister and to bear witness both to what you have seen of Me and to that in which I will appear to you, 17[a]Choosing you out [selecting you for Myself] and [b]delivering you from among this [Jewish] people and the Gentiles to whom I am sending you–(A)

When I look at these scriptures, I identify with him giving his testimony of change revealing how God’s divine intervention can take you into your purpose and destiny. I can say, at this point, at this time, while other things are occurring in my life, I am certain to arise and stand upon my feet to do entirely what he has called me to do and fulfill my destiny, that I too can say, “I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. Amen.

Be encouraged and ask God today, each day, what is it he wants emerging from you as a part of fulfilling your purpose and destiny

What words can you speak? What deed can you do? What do you have to give to help another? When he tells you don’t be afraid to do it. Go pick some fruit.

July 2008 “JOY” Belongs to You

James 1:2-3 NIRV

“You will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, think of it as pure joy. Your faith will be put to the test. You know that when that happens it will produce in you the strength to continue.”

Psalm 28:7NIV

“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”

Sometimes as the day progress, we just need a moment to rejuvenate or time to just collect your self. People use to say be cool, calm and collective” when I was young. As I think about that statement now, I asked myself, “What does that really means?”

I asked someone’s opinion and got a good answer but, as I thought of it again, this is what the Holy Spirit gave me.

Cool: Be unruffled, unmovable and steadfast.
Calm: Be peaceful at all times.
Collective: Keep yourself together when things normally would move you.
“God is not a God of disorder, but of peace.” 1 Cor14:35 NIV
Wow! How much better do we represent our Father when we do?
When you need a minute, take one!

You are too blessed to be a mess! You know when you think about all that God gives us why not possess it and guard it. Joy belongs to you. It has it benefits. If it didn’t satan would not try to rob you of it.

Read: Proverbs 31:10-31
AMP (find yourself in these scriptures)
10 A capable, intelligent, and [virtuous woman--who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.
You are valuable: God sees you that way.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of [honest] gain or need of [dishonest] spoil.
You have trustworthiness in you through Him.
12She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her.
You have godly ability to give unselfishly to others
13She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing hands [to develop it].
14She is like the merchant ships loaded with foodstuffs; she brings her household’s food from a far [country].
15She rises while it is yet night and gets [spiritual] food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks.
16She considers a [new] field before she buys or accepts it [expanding prudently and not courting neglect of her present duties by assuming other duties]; with her savings [of time and strength] she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. [S. of Sol. 8:12.]
See your ability to exercise self-motivation and achieve greatness at any level.
17She girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm.
We need balance. (as women to be strong) It takes a strong spiritual foundation to be all that we can be. So no matter what your role is, you must take time to build and renew the strength of your foundation through the word of God to achieve what God desires through us. Our spiritual foundation can help us get to our physical goals and help us maintain a healthy mental state.
18She tastes and sees that her gain from work [with and for God] is good; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night [of trouble, privation, or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt, and distrust].
19She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20She opens her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her filled hands to the needy [whether in body, mind, or spirit].
21She fears not the snow for her family, for all her household are doubly clothed in scarlet.
22She makes for herself coverlets, cushions, and rugs of tapestry. Her clothing is of linen, pure and fine, and of purple [such as that of which the clothing of the priests and the hallowed cloths of the temple were made].
23Her husband is known in the [city's] gates, when he sits among the elders of the land
24She makes fine linen garments and leads others to buy them; she delivers to the merchants girdles [or sashes that free one up for service].
25Strength and dignity are her clothing and her position is strong and secure; she rejoices over the future [the latter day or time to come, knowing that she and her family are in readiness for it]!
26She opens her mouth in skillful and godly Wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness [giving counsel and instruction].
27She looks well to how things go in her household, and the bread of idleness (gossip, discontent, and self-pity) she will not eat.
28Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied); and her husband boasts of and praises her, [saying],
29Many daughters have done virtuously, nobly, and well [with the strength of character that is steadfast in goodness], but you excel them all.
30Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised!
31Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates [of the city]
All of who we are is to be for His glory. Our every stride is to please God. Though we are not prefect and have not been the best example of what the woman of Proverbs 31 reflects; we are capable through Him to be our best if we 1) trust Him and 2) live to be pleasing unto Him utimately.
HOW? Now set a goal to become a woman with increasing godly character, confidence, and virtue.
Sister to Sistah: When true virtue and confidence is established confidently in you, you can see this in others without envy. ~sdsh~
