Start The Day Right In The Word of God

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

Mama I’m afraid, can you keep the light on? My grandson would say that to me often when he was 4.  Now, I hear my other grandson ask the same thing of his mother.  Of course, with reassurance and love they both were told, not to be afraid God keeps the angles watching over you and providing a little night light.   For them, the words of truth brought comfort but the light gave the reassurance.  Isn’t it amazing how being in the dark can make you feel lest secure.   Ephesians 4:12 says, “Christ will give you light”.   Now let’s look at v.  8-17

Ephesians 5:1-20

1Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. 4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. 5For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person-such a man is an idolater-has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[a] 6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. 7Therefore do not be partners with them.

8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10and find out what pleases the Lord. 11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. 13But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, 14for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
“Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

15Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let these passages speak to your heart, it’s so much to expound on and God can do it best through His Spirit.  I will leave this morning brew of encouragement for now.

Remember:

  • Jesus is our light.
  • He illuminates our lives.

As He illuminates our lives, he stimulates His goodness in us, He cultivates the righteousness, and truly lights the way of truth.  Don’t be afraid of the dark, you are a child of the light. Out of the darkness you come, now go light your world. Light another sister with love today.

Magnificent Father

Creator of all things

Your love is

boundlessly reaching

from the Heavens.

I come to drink

from your “river of delights”

Like the natural rivers you created

How beautiful are the waters

that flows down stream,

peaceful and calm

And just like life knowing you,

How exciting are the patterns

of the ripples

made as the water curls around the stones

And just as the currents moves excitingly fast

so does my soul rejoice in knowing

that you are the fountain of life.

I stand at your “river of delights”

and I receive from you

love,

preservation,

refuge,

abundance,

and life.

God invites us daily to come and drink from His “river of delights” so that His delights can flow from us to another. Never let anything hold you back from what God has for you. There is nothing better than what He gives and what has His approval. Read Psalm 36:5-9; Ezekiel 47:1-12 and let God wow you with revelation of his provisions abundantly for now and eternally. I live believing that there is nothing impossible for God and when He speaks I listen and expect what He say to manifest in my life.

May 2008

“When I woke up this morning I had the same problem that I had when I went to bed last night, so where is God in this situation?” I hope you are not feeling that way, but their are people that are feeling like this. We all have faced situations that felt like that. God is where he was last night, the night before that, and the night before that. The question is where are you in trusting God in the situation? When we are facing any situation the thing to remember is that God is an all sufficient God. 2Corinthians 9:8 NKJV “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” When I read this scripture I begin thinking about the experiences that Job faced, he never once blamed God for his situation no matter what. I begin thinking about myself and my “Crazy Faith” they say. I’ve come to a place in my walk with God that I believe that nothing is impossible for God and if there is nothing impossible for my Father why not trust Him for anything or everything. This month start everyday trusting God and… “Don’t give up” Click and listen 02-dont-give-up No matter what situation you face the key to winning is not looking at the situation, but looking at and trusting God through it. April 2008 Morning Brew:

Acknowledging that God is capable is easy but trusting it can become difficult when facing challenges because we are human. In the natural realm we can easily cave in, give up and quit. I have found when my natural man is in constant communion with the spirit man it increases my trust, changes my thinking and provides me with strength I would otherwise not have. Genuinely trusting God in every area of our being has its rewards of a peace as we walk the paths that only He can make straight.

Today ask God to help you be a woman that trusts Him in all things and

for all things.

How do you know that you genuinely trust and rely on Him?

Well when trouble comes do you go to him first and trust him when you can’t physically put your hands on the answer or feel secure that the answer will manifest?

When you need somebody, do you find comfort in knowing that God is there and can you encourage yourself to rejoice in Him? When you feel the discomforts of life do you love the Lord your God with your all? Do you acknowledge God in all when things are well, because you know that it is Him that is working out it for your good as well as for His glory?

These are all good questions to ask yourself to examine your total dependency on God.

Remember: We are human and we experience day to day opposing circumstances but in those times you must seek out the good in the bad situation and see God in the midst of them and be reliant on Him. Never focus on the problem, but on the problem solver. Also reme

mber its ok to talk things out with a godly and God fearing friend that will also point you in the direction and the wisdom of God’s word. Keep God first in life and you will grow in faithfully trusting Him.
